Happy Birthday Etta!

This is for my sister who will be coming down to house sit while we are on a camping/reunion/stampeade extravaganza.

I found this at a sale recently, the family that sold it were furniture restorers and the father was a sewer who fixed sewing machines as well. I hope this is a good machine! It sure looks pretty in its wooden table.

See you soon Etta!

And The Winner Is...

So I said that I would put the names into a hat and draw a winner, and since there were a crazy 189 comments I waited to do this as my craft at craft night which I hold at my house most Sundays(but this week for some reason we held it on Monday).

Congratulations Lisa! The painting is yours.

I will be tracking you down to get your address.

Thank you thank you to ALL who participated in this giveaway, it was so much fun to read the comments and then to find all of your blogs. Thank you. I plan on doing this again either with SewMamaSew or on my own.

I want to apologize to people who were not able to comment as I did not know untill today that the comments were set to only people who had a blogger acount. I am not a computer person so it takes me a while to catch on to these things.

I hope you all have a lovely week!

Skirt!

I made this skirt from my new skirt book Sew What! Skirts. There are no patterns in the book, it teaches you how to draft your own patterns. I think that this was a good first try I think that I need to adjust the pattern slightly, it is not quite perfect. It is a wrap around skirt without ties only snaps. I like snap tape but I do not like how much I paid for it at the local fabric store. I will keep hunting for a better deal. Over all I am happy with the skirt, I just need a good sunny day to try it out outside!

My new hat. I made it while Chris was napping on sunday. I think I will attempt to make a pattern from it. It is super comfy, I have been wanting a hat with a brim for a while but they are always too big for me. This one is perfect.
